AquaKlear, Inc. was able to successfully complete all requirements of the NSF Standard 40 and NSF Standard 245 (nitrogen reduction) without having to develop a new treatment unit specific for nitrogen reduction. This is due to their fine air diffuser which produces a high dissolved oxygen content and a complete turnover of the effluent. In addition, the patented clarifier skimmer returns much needed organics to the trash tank to be used in the denitrification process.

The AquaKlear is certified to both the NSF Standard 40 and NSF Standard 245 (nitrogen reduction standard). Based on the review of the executive summary and certification from Gulf Coast Testing, LLC. this system produced an six-month performance average of 8 mg/L BOD₅, 9 mg/L TSS  and 18 mg/L total-nitrogen which is a 50.7% reduction.
